Mission: This public policy and educational organization is dedicated to independent, nonpartisan inquiry.  The Independent Institute publishes books, articles in its journal (The Independent Review), and other scholarly works.  More

Student Programs
Sir John M. Templeton Fellowships Essay Contest (deadline: May 3, 2010): College students and junior faculty are eligible.  Prizes range from $1,000-$10,000.

Summer Seminars: This is a five-day series of lectures, readings, films, multimedia presentations, and small group discussion that teach students what economics is, how it affects their lives, and how understanding it can help them achieve better lives for themselves, their communities, and the world at large.  Open to high school and college students.

The Independent Scholarship Fund: This is a scholarship program that provides tuition assistance to low- and moderate-income families in the San Francisco East Bay.  The award is either $1,500 or three-fourths of a child’s annual tuition, whichever is less.

INTERNSHIPS

Internships are available year-round for college and graduate students interested in development, marketing, publicity, or publishing.  Applications are now being accepted for each quarter in the coming year.  More
